Bombs detonated in Nigeria, 118 killed

(Jos) 2 car bombs were detonated today in the central Nigerian city of Jos. They were detonated inside the main bus station and inside a market frequented by thousands of people on a daily basis. The death toll from this latest outrage inside Nigeria currently comes in at 118 killed and dozens injured. Witnesses to the first blast have stated that a white van that held the first bomb was parked for hours in the market place, raising suspicions of vendors and others who reported it to the authorities, but nothing was done.

This latest attacks comes a day after a car bomb attack in Kano city claimed 25 people. The carnage there could have been worse, but the car bomb detonated prematurely before it reached its target of restaurants and bars in the Christian quarter of the Muslim city.
